Vincentian Prayer Images: Recognizing the Frederics In Our Midst

by | Jun 23, 2020 | Formation, Reflections, Vincentian Family

Here is another in our series of “Praying Our Heritage.” The series illustrates quotes from key figures in the Vincentian Heritage.

Let the image and the quote sink in, and take root. These images might surprise you into prayer at various points in your day.

Sometimes we forget that Frederic Ozanam and his friends were typical students of his day.

They may have dressed differently than students today.

But they had the idealism and enthusiasm of youth of every generation.

When I was still teaching at St. John’s University I used to look at my students and wonder which group might be this generation’s Frederic and his friends.

We all come into contact with young people today. Do we recognize today’s potential Frederics and friends?

They are there … if we have eyes to see and hands to reach out with!

For the more visually oriented among us, you don’t have to wait for the weekly image on Tuesday. You can browse for yourself. You can even search for images related to key words. Visit and search VinFormation’s database of prayer images.

We hope you will enjoy these time-release prayer capsules!

We would also welcome you sharing with all of us images that inspired you to prayer.
