by | Jul 28, 2020 | Formation, Reflections, Vincentian Family | 1 comment

Here is another in our series of “Praying Our Heritage.” The series illustrates quotes from key figures in the Vincentian Heritage.

Let the image and the quote sink in, and take root. These images might surprise you into prayer at various points in your day.

VIncent more than once said… I don’t know how all this came about; for my part, I couldn’t tell you. M. Portail over there can attest that nothing was further from our thoughts than all that. XII:8

The Vincentian family today is large, multicultural, multilingual, and prophetic with more than 150 branches all over the world.

  • What would Vincent think about what this family could do today?

  • What do you think this family should do today??

For the more visually oriented among us, you don’t have to wait for the weekly image on Tuesday. You can browse for yourself. You can even search for images related to key words. Visit and search VinFormation’s database of prayer images.

We hope you will enjoy these time-release prayer capsules!

We would also welcome you sharing with all of us images that inspired you to prayer.

Surely, it is part of St. Vincent’s joy and delight in heaven to see such a huge following that he never even imagined.

I think he wants his family to do what he and the founders of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul did, that is, to respond to the immediate needs that are before the family because of COVID-19, all the while asking Providence to give it the creativity to get to the roots of those needs, along the lines suggested by Sr. Carol Keehan on “How the pandemic could reshape the U.S. health care system” (America 05/29/2020).
