One of the reasons for Saint Vincent de Paul to be considered a key figure in the history of the holiness of the Church is his style of living his vocation.

This week’s example is:

Saint Vincent undertook all kinds of works: Participation in the Council of Conscience, a group entrusted with religious cases and particularly with the appointment of bishops–– something that Vincent regarded as the council’s most important task— “for the good which he could do for the poor.”

Thank You for bringing St. Vincent into the mix of great saints of the church. He definitely among the greatest. I consider him in the same level as St. Paul. Same in Holiness and spirituality. He didn’t sit around waiting for a clear voice from Heaven with directions for his life. He prayed and did it and prayed all along to be guided by the Triune God.
