In the concluding remarks delivered at the World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Pope Francis announced that the next gathering of the young people from all over the world would be held “in Krakow, in Poland”. The Vincentian Family in our country responded to this news with great joy. We are, indeed, extremely happy – primarily due to the fact that the meeting will be a unique opportunity to introduce to the Vincentian youth the places in which John Paul II lived, worked and grew into sanctity.

Since the Rome meeting in 2000, the World Youth Day has been accompanied by gatherings of Vincentian youth from all over the world. We are thrilled to know that this time the youth of the Vincentian Family will get together in a country which was so close to Saint Vincent and Saint Louise; in a country, to which the first Vincentian Priests and Daughters of Charity were sent by the saint founders themselves. Since then, despite a number of dramatic historical events, the Vincentian communities have been – incessantly – operating in Poland and living out their charism.

I have a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the Vincentian Youth Days which will be held on July 23-25, 2016 – immediately preceding the meeting with Pope Francis during the World Youth Days in Krakow. Their theme will be: “The Vincentians Faithful to Mercy”. The event will be held in “Radosna Nowina 2000” [Joyful hope 2000] centre in Piekary, near Krakow. It is a very special place in which, for more than a dozen years, the young people from all over Poland have been gaining knowledge and experience, as well as well as further developing their religious life.

When visiting the website famvin2016.pl, you will find all the necessary information concerning the event. You can also contact the organisers and ask questions related to the Vincentian Youth Days. We will be more than happy to answer all your queries.

We are also present in social media: FacebookTwitterand Google+. Feel free to share your opinions and concerns concerning your participation in the gathering of Vincentian youth with us.

Registration will officially begin in August 2015. Please, follow the website for a registration announcement as well as other updates and details.

See you in Krakow!
