Rosalie Rendu – Walk with us

by | Jul 17, 2014 | Vincentian Family

Rosalie as mentorHear the cries of our Vincentian youth  – “Walk with us as we deepen our faith.”  Rosalie Rendu, DC certainly did as she responded to Frederic and his college companions.

The men in this graphic were once idealistic university students filled with a burning faith. But they were unprepared for the challenge of an atheistic fellow student who challenged them with a question about where was the God they believed in in the lives of the those suffering in poverty.

She heard the cries of these young men and walked with them as she introduced them to the people she served. She became their mentor as they discovered a world they had no idea existed… and observed a woman of deep and practical faith.

This week spiritual advisors of the Vincentian Marian Youth are meeting in Paris to explore what it means to walk with our Vincentian youth.

For this week’s installment of Formation Friday we can draw upon the  many resources of VinFormation dedicated to Rosalie Rendu to learn more about this marvelous mentor to the young people of her time.
