How you can use technology to benefit your organizational capacity-SVDP Councils across the nation are always seeking a solution to make the organizations run smoothly while serving the community and balancing resources. The National Council of Society of St. Vincent de Paul along with ITT Technical Institute has created an Internship Program to assist Councils nationwide in this ever ending balance.
See the SVDP USA Website for more details
Last month at National Council of SVDP, an internship program was created with four students with a wide variety of talents from ITT. They have assisted in research, donor calls, project management, social media, appointment setting and youth growth outreach. They have worked out so well ,that we have decided to expand the program to a national platform. The goal continues to be creating partnerships with national organizations that can assist our local Council’s impact and service.
The ITT Technical Institute is a leading private college system focused on technology-oriented programs of study. There are over 140 ITT Technical Institutes in 38 states. The ITT Technical Institutes predominantly offer career-focused, degree programs to over 70,000 students. The ITT Technical Institutes have been actively involved in the higher education community in the United States since 1969.
Outlined below are some areas where the SVDP/ITT Internship Program can assist your local Council/Conference:
1. SVDP / ITT Interns can assist your Council to stand out from the online crowd amongst other nonprofits.
2. SVDP / ITT Interns can assist in research in your local market.
3. SVDP/ ITT Interns can perform business tasks that can make you more efficient.
Dr. E. Lance McCarthy (National Manager of Corporate and Donor Relationships) writes … “As you can see, interns can become a valuable part of your operations. However, these three ways are only the beginning. The possibilities with interns are endless. Interns can do anything you can train them to do. Their young energy brings a new hope to the offices we all manage. Internships at SVDP assist in providing valuable on-the-job experience to a young person, and you are enlightening them about the great work of Vincentians.
