They kept coming… The story of POTS

by | Feb 8, 2014 | Poverty: Analysis and Responses, Sisters of Charity

Part of the Solution, or POTS, was opened in a storefront on Fordham Road in 1982 by Fr. Ned Murphy, SJ, Tim Boon, and Sister Jane Iannucelli, SC, (current President of the Sisters of Charity) to help feed those living in poverty in the Bronx. This video tells the story of POTS from the very beginning of the soup kitchen and the many who immediately stepped forward to lend their assistance to the new ministry. This video also recalls the tremendous collaboration of religious and laity that helped make POTS the success it is today, enabling the multi-service center to serve thousands every month.
