Here is another in our series of “Praying Our Heritage.” The series illustrates quotes from key figures in the Vincentian Heritage.
Let the image and the quote sink in, and take root. These images might surprise you into prayer at various points in your day.
Walking through each day with St. Vincent
St. Vincent told the Daughters of Charity: “Take care to give an account of your prayer as soon as possible after making it. You can’t imagine how useful this will be. Tell one another quite simply the thoughts God has given you and, above all, be careful to remember the resolutions you took at meditation. The good thoughts God gives you in prayer are [like precious] relics; gather them carefully in order to put them into practice, and you’ll gladden the heart of God; then you’ll be the joy of God, and all the saints will celebrate.”
When you are about to gossip or make small talk, think of something better you can share!
