September 1, Pope Francis asks us to pray for creation.
Last year Pope Francis declared September 1st as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation.
Pope Francis states that “The annual World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation offers…a precious opportunity to renew our personal participation in this vocation as custodians of creation, raising to God our thanks for the marvellous works that He has entrusted to our care, invoking his help for the protection of creation and his mercy for the sins committed against the world in which we live.” (Read his full letter here.)

This day of prayer has been extended into a “Season of Creation” that is celebrated by Christian communities around the globe, beginning on September 1 and ending on October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
This is needed more than ever.
We sadly continue to break records: June 2016 was declared to be the hottest June on record, completing a string 14 consecutive months of record-breaking heat. The climate crisis continues to get worse.
Join with our brothers and sisters from different Christian churches and networks to unite the Christian family worldwide to care for creation during this important time.
What can you do?
