The Ladies of Charity website reports that a surprise guest  attended  the recent Buffalo, N.Y. Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

Several new members were enrolled following the Mass at St. Benedict Church and attended a Volunteer Appreciation Mass and luncheon on May 13.

Pope Francis was not able to attend the luncheon, but he did send a stand-in.
