The apparitions of Mary to St. Catherine Labouré had an important place at a time when the Vincentian Family was beginning to be renewed after having been dispersed, and, to a large extent, wiped out by the French Revolution. In 1830, the Daughters of Charity and the Congregation of the Mission were only a remnant, two very small communities comprised of the survivors of the Revolution. In later decades, our Family experienced an important renewal. This presentation tries to answer the question: What are some of the bonds between the Miraculous Medal and the Vincentian Family?
So many of us remember, with great emotion, various times when we humbly and confidently have asked the Most Holy Virgin for some favor, some grace, some miracle… and she has responded to our need. Thank you, Virgin of miracles! You are our Mother who answers our prayer!
