The Daughters of Charity Province of St. Louise and Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton announce the merger of their two, U.S., volunteer programs—Vincentian Mission Corps (VMC) and Vincentian Service Corps West (VSC-West). Following conversations between the two Provincial Councils, recommendation was made to unify both volunteer groups. Mary Pimmel-Freeman, currently the Director of VMC, will continue as Director of the consolidated program which will be known as VMC. A Lay Coordinator, based in San Francisco, will assist with the volunteers who serve in California. The merger will allow greater opportunities to the young adult volunteers to select ministry opportunities across the country, St. Louis, and San Francisco. To date, more than 175 young adults have served in both programs in disciplines as diverse as early childhood education, to health care, to residential care for special needs adults. #VinMissionCorps @VincentianMissionCorps
