The General President of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul calls on young Vincentians of the Society to participate in the 2nd International Youth Meeting of the SSVP, which will take place in Salamanca (Spain) in June 2018, and young people of the Vincentian Family to participate in the World Youth Day, which will take place in Panama in January 2019:
Translation:
Dear members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the Vincentian Family:
Here I am, brother Renato Lima, and I want to make a very special invitation: now, in June, in Salamanca (Spain), we will be have a meeting for young people: a young person from each country, in the second international meeting of youth of the SSVP. And, in January 2019, we will be in Panama for the World Youth Day with the Pope, and a few days before the pre-meeting with young Vincentians.
You, who are young, make an effort, get the money and go to these meetings, because they are meetings that will renew our hearts, renew our charism and strengthen our Vincentian work in favor of the poor. We are here at the service of the poor, and the more formation we receive from a Catholic and Christian foundation, the more better Vincentians we will be. The better formed is a Vincentian, the better your work will be at the conference, in the parish and with the poor.
Therefore, you who are young, do not miss this opportunity to be in Salamanca and later in Panama. When I joined the Society, I was only 15 years old; and now I am the General President. So: invest in your spiritual life and move on, because that is how we are going to serve God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Praise be always our Lord Jesus Christ.
