Sister Florina Joseph, from the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, wrote for Vatican News about the efforts of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth to combat poverty in Musunuru, a village in Andhra Pradesh, India. On the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, she highlighted the systemic transformation the village has experienced since 2009. With the support of the Preranalaya Social Development Centre, the Sisters have improved sanitation, education, and health care, and introduced sustainable farming. Their initiatives have helped Musunuru transition from a poverty-stricken area to a developing community.
