This month of Novebember, the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth celebrate the irreplaceable pioneering spirit of the Sisters who landed in Leavenworth 165 years ago! May we all look forward to the good that is yet to be!

In the fall of 1858, Bishop John Baptist Miege invited Mother Xavier Ross and the Sisters of Charity to “Come north” from Nashville to the pioneer territory for which he was responsible. In November 11, 1858, first Sisters of Charity arrived in Leavenworth, Kan.
