The strength of being a Latin American Vincentian Family. A beautiful story.
A few days ago, I had a call: Do you know someone from the Vincentian Family in Sao Paulo?
Because of our task in FAVILA, we are connected with all Latin America and the Caribbean; so we contacted Ada Ferreira from Brazil and she in turn contacted the Vincentians in São Paulo. What was it about? Let me tell you:
A volunteer from AIC Mexico, Gema López, has a son named Ian Fitz, who works for Do&Co, an Austrian company that organizes the finest international events. Ian and Gema shared with the owners of Do&Co what the Vincentian Family does worldwide, and requested that what was left over from all the food served in the Padock Club (exclusive area of the racetracks) of the Formula One championship be donated to members of the Vincentian Family. The director of the company told him that he could ask for all the leftovers in the countries where there was a race. In Mexico they have been donating it for 5 years. And now it was in Sao Paulo.
The Vincentian Family in São Paulo went to pick up all the leftovers after the race. It was necessary to take large vehicles, to have refrigerators and freezers because most of it is perishable.
I share with you the thank you letter and some photos of what we received. Thanks Gema, Ian and Do&Co!
Good afternoon.
Thank you very much for contacting Gema. We were very happy with the donations we received after the Gran Prêmio F1 in São Paulo. In a joint work of the Sisters of Gysegem, the Religious of St. Vincent and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul we received the donations and immediately started to share them.
On behalf of all the needy who received and will receive the donations, thank you very much. May God bless each one of you and all who made the help possible.
A big thank you in St. Vincent, St. Louise, Blessed Frederic and Blessed Rosalie.
Moral: Being family and sharing with generosity our contacts and knowledge, more people benefit, more people know us, more resources are obtained and we will be much stronger before the world that will know us more and more… we share some photos of what they received in São Paulo.
Ligia Ferráez Evia,
Coordinator of the Vincentian Family Latin America (FAVILA)
So generous! God bless the Vincentians who contacted them, the donor’s. They shall never want. God bless all Vincentians.
