The book Street Homelessness and Catholic Theological Ethics has been awarded the second place on 2020 Catholic Book Award in the Catholic Social Teaching category, organised by the Catholic Press Association of the United States & Canada. The book has been co-edited by the Famvin Homeless Alliance coordinator, Mark McGreevy, and James F. Keenan, SJ, from Boston College.

Members of the FHA, including Commission members Dame Louise Casey and Rosanne Haggerty, feature as authors in this collection of papers published by Orbis Books. Spanning five continents, the book seeks to deepen contemporary understanding of, and approaches to, Catholic theological ethics and the global crisis of homelessness. Topics include global strategies for combating homelessness, local ethical responses, and advocacy for specific populations such as women, orphans, and veterans.

Street Homelessness and Catholic Theological Ethics, alongside other Vincentian publications such as the Journal of Vincentian Social Action, published by St John’s University, are helping to develop Catholic Social Teaching in the area of homelessness

The book was launched in London last January. You can watch again Mark McGreevy’s presentation:
