Popular Mission Ministry of the Congregation of the Mission will hold its 7th National Convention from October 26 to 29, 2016 with the theme: “… He has sent me to preach the good news to the poor” (Lk 4:18) at Caritas Christi Prayer and Renewal Center, Naga City, Philippines.

This event, which happens once every two years, has been a venue for most Vincentian lay missionaries (together with some CM confreres) to gather together for continuing formation, to organize strategies for pastoral engagements, and celebrate being a community of dear friends for the mission. We are expecting delegate-missionaries from the different VPM centers such as the National Capital Region, Central Luzon, Cebu, Iloilo, Bohol, Misamis Occidental, and Bicol Region.

This year’s convention has the following objectives:

  • to provide venue for communal reflection on VPM’s history, its nature and present pastoral engagements and the challenges that the ministry is (and will be) facing as it continuously responds to the call of the mission (on-going formation);
  • to present and approve the proposed VPM Manual for endorsement to the CM Provincial Visitor; and
  • to collectively reflect and set the VPM Priorities (towards the drafting of the ministry’s Six-Year Pastoral Plan).

Kindly include the success of this event in your prayers and mass intentions. May this gathering lead us into a deeper appreciation of our vocation as Vincentian missionaries and inspire us to be more zealous in our dedication and service for the poor.
