Also recognized for their work in improving the conditions of those living in the Niagara Falls community were Tom Lowe, director of ReNU Niagara, the Rev. Jimmy Rowe, a community leader who is involved with NU’s urban ministry program, and Seth Piccirillo, director of community development in Niagara Falls and co-founder of LiveNF.

The proceeds from the dinner support programs for the poor, which receive grants through the Vincentian community’s Eastern Province Grant Fund. Many local organizations have received grants from this fund.

The Our Lady of Angels Association, founded at Niagara University in 1918, is a development office for the Eastern Province of the Congregation of the Mission (the Vincentian community). Inspired by the charism of Saint Vincent de Paul, the association encourages its members and benefactors to support, through their prayers and donations, the education and formation of Vincentian priests, brothers, and seminarians; and it encourages them to be partners with the members of the Vincentian family in their ministries with and for the poor. The Levesque Institute was established in September 2011 to reinforce Niagara University’s commitment to the region by strengthening existing community partnerships and forming new town-grown relationships. It encompasses three of the university’s flagship service-oriented programs, ReNU Niagara, Learn and Serve Niagara, and Border Community SERVICE. The institute also serves as the primary resource for community members looking to partner with NU’s student, faculty, and staff.
