A lot was happening at this time in 1625. April 17 is the anniversary of the first establishment of the Congregation of the Mission, Bons Enfants, Paris.
In 1608, Father Vincent de Paul was 27 years old. He had been a priest for 8 years. A providential chain of events began to unfold, that through God’s providence led to the origin of the Congregation of the Mission. What can we learn here? St. Vincent:
- acted on a series of opportunities presented to him,
- he collaborated with those he encountered along the way,
- and he trusted in the Lord to lead him.
