The Second Convocation of the Vincentian Family will be held from November 14-17, 2024, in Rome, under the theme “Keeping the Fire Burning: Vincentian Synodality in Action.” This event aims to strengthen the bonds among its members and renew the commitment to its mission of serving the needy. It responds to Pope Francis’ call for synodality, a concept that promotes walking together, listening, and discerning as a community. Synodality is essential for the Vincentian Family, as it involves an inclusive decision-making process that reflects the diversity of its many branches and institutions.
Rev. Joseph V. Agostino, CM, has invited leaders and members from around the world to participate, including congregations, institutes, foundations, ministries, and individual members who share the Vincentian charism. There is a particular encouragement to invite young members to ensure the continuity of the charism.
The event will be held at the Hotel Casa Tra Noi and the Ghione Theater, starting on November 14 and ending on November 17 with a Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. The plenary sessions and workshops will address topics such as Vincentian spirituality, manifestations of the charism, and the impact of synodality on work in the peripheries. One of the highlights will be an address by Cardinal Michael Czerny, SJ.
To participate, registration must be completed by October 17, 2024, with a registration fee of 300 euros and an additional fee of 100 euros for the invitation letter for the visa. Accommodation at the Hotel Casa Tra Noi offers special rates for participants.
