It was such a privileged honor to meet the International AIC President Tayde de Callataÿ at the reception at St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth & Families [last summer]. She was the final puzzle piece to the Vincentian Family connection of the Ladies of Charity. She was so very personable and caring. The AIC is now present in more than 50 countries with over 100,000 volunteers, all participating in the SAME Spirit, all on one TEAM fighting poverty in its many forms. The volunteers are involved in this struggle in different ways, speak different languages and come from different cultural backgrounds. The International President was very impressed with all the groups in Archdiocese of Washington.
Calvert County Ladies of Charity gave an awesome presentation and she Tayde listened to the sharing that took place … it was an honor that she visited Mount Calvary Church and the Food Pantry. Before closing, I also wanted to mention that there were several Daughters of Charity at the reception and they were most grateful to be invited to this once-in-a- lifetime ewvent. Thank you so much to Viola Johnson-Robinson and Debbie Self for inviting, providing hospitality and transportation for such a memorable event.
