In the aftermath of Hurricane Lisa, Maria Vargas’ home in Las Flores was devastated. The roof was partially blown off, leaving her vulnerable to the elements. But with our temporary repairs, we provided some relief. However, Maria’s home faces even more challenges. The floor consists of rock and mud, covered with worn-out linoleum. Gaps between the wood walls expose her to the elements, and the roof continues to leak.

Here’s where you come in. Maria has a piece of property on which we can build a new home, and there is already a septic system in place. We have an incredible opportunity to construct a small 20 x 16 house for Maria—a project that will restore her dignity, security, and comfort.

By volunteering your time and skills, you can help build a sanctuary for Maria and transform her life. Whether you have experience in construction or simply a heart full of compassion, your contribution is invaluable. Together, we can make a tangible difference and provide Maria with a safe and stable home.
