First FHA online training event for the SSVP

by | May 23, 2021 | News

The FHA organised its first online training event to encourage more Vincentians to join our efforts to end homelessness. We had the privilege to explain our goals and plans for the next three years to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, the biggest Vincentian branch. The international president, Renato Lima, and the International Territorial Vice-Presidents (ITVP) of the SSVP attended the event. We were also blessed with the presence of Father Andrés Motto CM, spiritual advisor of the Society.

The FHA team had the chance to explain our achievements so far, including the Vincentian Mapping programme and progress in the 13 Houses Campaign. Many SSVP conferences and Councils are already taking part, leading or taking part in a wide range of projects, from single houses to big-scale developments. We wanted to take this chance to encourage the international territorial vice-presidents to bring on board more countries to our common effort. The 13 Houses Campaign aims to house 10.000 people around the word and to feature at least a project in each and every country with Vincentian presence. The team also answered the questions from the vice-presidents about how to develop projects and how to monitor them, among many others.

This session was also possible thanks to the collaboration of three volunteer Vincentians interpreters, who allowed the event to be translated to Spanish, French and Portuguese. We hope that this will be the first of many future events to share the good news of how Vincentian collaboration is changing lives all over the world, and to bring more Vincentian branches on board.
