Mr. Renato Lima de Oliveira, 16th General President of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP), has recently published a letter addressed to all members of the SSVP, facing the current global pandemic situation we are experiencing due to the coronavirus. The letter can also serve as a reflection for any member of the Vincentian Family.
In this letter, brother Renato tells us:
In recent weeks, we have had to confront the coronavirus crisis, a pandemic that is forcing us into a situation of social confinement which restricts personal contact, especially with the elderly. (…) The poor and the homeless are the most affected and also the most vulnerable.
Let us have faith! If we have faith in God and full trust in Our Lord Jesus Christ, we can overcome any adversity. (…) We will conquer the coronavirus!
Let us continue to pray for all the members of the great Vincentian Family and for the poor of the world, and let’s intensify our care and public health prevention. There is no doubt that we can overcome this battle!
