In October, MISEVI Colombia met in Funza Cundinamarca at the Villa Paul Seminary, for the purpose of holding its VI National Assembly. This gathering took place from October 11-14, and included the participation of about 36 people from the different associations throughout Colombia,
During this Assembly the following themes were developed: the Apostolic Exhortation “Christ Lives” and the Culture of the Encounter. There was a Commitment ceremony of some missionaries as fully committed members. There was also a report from each of the associations which included an evaluation of its ministry and missionary work … of course there was also time for relaxation also and a community outing.
On Sunday, October 13, after 45 minutes of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, the National Board was elected for a period of 3 years. The following are members of the new Board: Martha Marin Perez – Chairwoman (re-elected), Bety Gaviria – Secretary (re-elected), Vilma Ravelo – Treasurer (reelected), Carlos Fonseca – Fiscal (new), Marisol Torres – Vocal (new).

Finally, the various members associations presented different proposals for the next three year period and the National Board has begun its work through virtual meetings.
As we approach the end of this year, the Christmas Mission of the entire Vincentian Family will take place in Buenaventura (Valley) from December 14-26. Some members of MISEVI will participate, others will carry out this mission in the places where they are presently ministering.
Each year MISEVI Colombia has a meeting at the National level but in 2020 together with the other branches of the Vincentian Family, it will participate “the Great Mission” … an event to celebrate 150 years of Vincentian presence in Colombia. This mission will be held in Tambo (Cauca), the place where the members of the Congregation of the Mission entered Colombia. This mission will take place from July 11-20, 2020.
