Pope Francis’ Surprise Visit To the Daughters of Charity of Casa Regina Mundi, in Rome

by | Jul 29, 2019 | Daughters of Charity, News

Our dear Sisters of the Daughters of Charity community of the Casa Regina Mundi in Rome were surprised by an extraordinary visitor: Pope Francis himself. On Sunday, in the afternoon he came to visit Sister Maria Mucci, who for many years has served in the Casa Santa Marta, the Pope’s residence in the Vatican. Now, she is in the infirmary.

Pope Francis contemplated the relic of the bloodstained undershirt of St. John Paul II which was gifted to the Sisters when John Paul II was brought to Gemelli Hospital immediately after the assassination attempt. At the end of the visit he blessed the Sisters, employees and guests of the house.
