On March 17, at the SSVP headquarters in Madrid, the National Council of the Vincentian Family in Spain met. The meeting was attended by Sr. Juana Mª Belzunegui, DC, visitatrix of the Daughters of Charity province of Eastern Spain, Father Paulino Sáez, CM (representing the Congregation of the Mission), Concepción Santiago, president of the AIC Spain, Guadalupe de Luis, national president of the Association of the Miraculous Medal, David Sanz, representing MISEVI, Javier Cremades, representing the VMY and Juan M. Buergo, national president of the SSVP. Special guests to the meeting were Father Joe Agostino, CM, international coordinator of the Vincentian Family Office, and Javier F. Chento, international coordinator of the Commission for Comunications of the Vincentian Family.
At the meeting, several issues were highlighted, including studying some initiative related to “13 Houses” type projects, which could be implemented in Spain as a Vincentian Family, emerged from the 400 anniversary Symposium held in Rome at the end of last year, promoted by the Famvin Homeless Alliance. About the project, it was said that as a pilot experience, was about to be presented to the Vincentian Family a project about the street care for the homeless, emerged from the Symposium, between the Daughters of Charity and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Madrid capital. Likewise, the need for this National Council to have more communication and exchange of information with the local council was put on the table.
