VMY Albania-Kosovo Continues to Respond “VMY, Here I Am!”

by | Nov 23, 2018 | News, Vincentian Marian Youth

“Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it” Lk 11,28

From the 28th to the 30th September, the national meeting of the VMY was held in a village in Shkodra called Grude e Re, at the oratory of the Vincentian priests. Many members of local VMY groups participated in the said meeting.

Like every other time, this meeting was very useful . There were different moments of prayers, formations, entertainment, brotherhood and also the opportunity of meeting new friends.

The main goal of this meeting was a continuous walk in our formation as persons, also as members of the VMY and the beauty of this meeting lies in these goal. According to the syntheses that each group has sent based on their experience, we came to the conclusion that this meeting was very fruitful and also will serve them in different ways in their daily lives.

One of the main topics that we had was, “The lay believers of Christ” by Pope John Paul ll,” an apostolic encouragement on the call and mission of the lay people in the church and the world. Dom Lorenzo has explained and summarized his speech in a beautiful way that made us reflect and ask ourselves “Are we aware of our role in the church, in our society and in our daily life?” We are all called to be saints, whether consecrated or as lay. We have to know the importance of baptism and also we must give the fruits of our formation to the benefit of others, because each of us is born old and reborn from the baptismal water. And he talked also about the church that connects it, the “little family” where the husband is the head, wife is the heart and the children are the limbs. After, he talked about the connection between Christ, the church and the Holy Spirit and the qualities of Jesus.

Members that were present also had the opportunity to hear testimonies from people of different ages. They were impressed by the testimony of a young boy named Jozue, who talked about the reality of young the people and gave us a meaningful messages about life. The beauty of these testimonies is that in life we have to face different challenges because Jesus requires us to stand in his love.

During these days we had the opportunity to see two short films by VMY Zllakuqan and VMY Rreshen, which were entries to the film festival Finding Vince 400, which took place in Rome.

Moreover, young people had the opportunity for confession and spiritual conversations. We thank God and all those who contributed to the success of this spiritual and functional meeting.

We are united on a mission “To evangelize Jesus to the poor people” and so we continue to respond to the call “Here I am.”

To Jesus with Mary.
