Those of you who followed the General Assembly of the Congregation of the Mission on Facebook probably noticed .famvin’s Toma Zielinski making use of Facebook Live.
Here are a two notes to help you find out about how this Facebook feature can help you in your Vincentian Family efforts.
Live Groups and Events
“Going live” on Facebook feels special because you are going live with the people that need to know. Live in Groups allows you to broadcast to just the people in the Facebook Group – so you can go live in your Vincentian Family group, or share a planning session with your local conference. Live in Events means you can go live from a Vincentian Family reunion to allow those that can’t make it to join the fun, and a presenter can go live to the people who’ve RSVP-ed to the event to give them a special insight into their presentation. You can even use Events to schedule a live Q&A session. Facebook hope this new ability to both broadcast and watch live video within Groups and Events enables people to connect in a variety of ways.
Acquainting your members with the technology
In 2016, Facebook launched a brand new mobile video browsing hub and video search engine on mobile devices making it easier for users to browse top videos as well as videos from their friends and family. They also integrated Live videos directly into the Facebook Search tab so that users can view Live clips in relation to trending news and topics. Make sure you and your members know how to use this valuable feature.
