It was a day dedicated to hearing the call.
At Morning Mass — livestreamed by .famvin’s Tomasz Zielinski on Facebook famvinEurope— Fr. Tomaž Mavrič, C.M., Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission and of the Company of the Daughters of Charity (and Director General of the Vincentian Marian Youth), challenged the young people to hear God’s call to be “priests, lay brothers, sisters and missionaries.”
Stirring testimony from missionaries in the Vincentian tradition pointed to the need to listen deeply to God’s call and to engage in the process of discernment. Seminarian Wojciech Kaczmarek shared his vocation story, the process of discernment, prayer, the hard choices of either entering Law Department or Seminary, and on how he was lead to choose the Seminary.
“After 2 years, I can firmly contend that it’s a path of love which I have to share with everyone every day”
A special testimony was received from United States actor Clarence Gilyard. Gilyard, now a professor of Fine Arts, shared his journey and how his acceptance of Jesus in the Eucharist eventually led to his reception into the Catholic Church. You can read more about his journey in this St. Anthony Messenger article.
On a special note, these photos and those in the small “circles” gallery below were taken by Vincentian Father Marek Tomasz Kalisz. His Facebook page has hundreds of beautiful photos, taken with a highly professional eye. It truly gives you a feel for the color, energy and companionship of the Vincentian Youth Days. Thank you, Marek!
