Members of the Vincentian Family are invited to participate in the Second Convocation, which will be held in Rome, November 14-17, 2024. This gathering will bring together members of the spiritual family of St. Vincent de Paul from around the world to reflect, share and strengthen their commitment to serving those most in need.
One of the most anticipated moments of the event will take place on Sunday morning, when the participants will experience an unforgettable encounter with the Holy Father, Pope Francis, during the celebration of the World Day of the Poor. This gesture is a profound manifestation of the Vincentian heart, which sees in the poor the face of Christ, and a unique opportunity for the participants to witness the Pope’s message of charity and mercy.
Pope Francis has chosen, within the framework of the Jubilee Year, the “13 Houses” Project in Syria as one of his “concrete gestures of charity”. This Vincentian initiative, promoted by the Famvin Homeless Alliance, aims to provide decent housing for the most vulnerable families devastated by war and poverty in Syria. The Pope’s support of this project highlights the urgency of acting on behalf of those who suffer the cruelest consequences of conflict and marginalization.
The event in Rome will not only be an opportunity for spiritual and fraternal encounter, but also a time to deepen the mission of the Vincentian Family: to be servants of the poor in all parts of the world, responding to their concrete needs.
Registration is still open. We encourage those who wish to live a unique experience of faith, solidarity and charitable action to participate. Together, in Rome, we can renew our commitment to follow in the footsteps of St. Vincent de Paul, working for a more just and fraternal world.
