The Rosalie Projects: It’ll be better than before

by | Jul 21, 2024 | Daughters of Charity, News | 0 comments

The aim of the “I’ll be Better Than Before” project is to continue rehabilitating a family’s home.

The 2 sons and the father live in 2 bedrooms, while the young daughter sleeps in the living room when she returns from her week-long BTS course several KM from home.

The house was poorly insulated and old.

“Hot water arrived only after long waits, the old boiler didn’t heat much and there was a lot of wind rushing through the house.” Sr Marthe Roquebert

Once the funds had been collected, the windows and doors were replaced as a first step to quickly keep the house draft-free, especially in the bathroom and WC.

“The plumber was then called in in the autumn to change the toilets and install a new compensation boiler, so that the house could have hot water and heating before the onset of winter. Sr Marthe Roquebert

The 4 members of the family who benefited from this project are very happy with the improvements.
“The home is more comfortable. It’s also gratifying for the owner, who has been graciously lending us the house since 2019, and without remuneration (she has only a tiny salary to live on!)” Sr Marthe Roquebert

Many thanks for your contributions

“Dear Sir/Madam,
On behalf of my family, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous support. We are very satisfied with the final result of the work done on our house.
We now have more modern and attractive windows, including doors, etc.
Words cannot express our gratitude for the help that we received from the Rosalie Projects which gavé financial support for the work to be carried out.
We notice a change, and it pleases us to live in a much more modern house … the children are also delighted, it is for this reason that we express our heartfelt thanks.
Yours sincerely
Francisco R. and his 3 children
