Yaretzi’s journey

by | Apr 27, 2024 | News

Yaretzi’s journey from a young child attending St. Vincent de Paul’s Family Dining Room to a blossoming student at the Dream Center in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, is a testament to the power of nurturing environments like SVdP’s Dream Center, where children like her can grow and feel inspired to ‘Dream Big!’

At just 11 years old, she already has the desire to help her community by becoming a Spanish interpreter when she grows up.

From a young age, Yaretzi’s intellect and creativity were cultivated at the Dream Center. Her mom was pregnant with her when for the first time her family came for a meal at the Family Dining Room.

Yaretzi’s mother stands as her beacon of inspiration. Growing up seeing her mom struggle with the English language fueled Yaretzi’s determination to pursue a career as a Spanish interpreter. She hopes to change the lives of many individuals that she keeps in her heart: Families like the ones at Next Phase Family Dining Room, who like her mother, face the daunting challenge of navigating language barriers.

With guidance from Dream Center tutors, Yaretzi looks forward to further her education and use her skills of interpretation as a tool for building bridges, breaking down barriers, and ultimately transforming many lives.
