Sierra Leone | VMY Latest Updates and Achievements

by | Jan 14, 2024 | News, Vincentian Marian Youth | 1 comment

In April, VMY Sierra Leone joined fellow members of the Vincentian Family in the successful completion and handover of a 13 Houses Campaign in Moyamba to Mr. Alfred Kargbo and his family.

On the 15th of August, the VMY Sierra Leone celebrated the consecration of 13 new members. Marking a significant milestone, on the 21st of August 2023, the members of VMY Sierra Leone joyfully commemorated their first-year anniversary Agape with the Poor, hosted by the Sierra Leone Association of the Blind in Moyamba town. This association comprises individuals of varying ages who are visually impaired, yet through the application of their unique talents, actively contribute to economic activities and engage in productive endeavors to meet their needs.

Throughout the year, the VMY Sierra Leone generously donated sewing materials, including five sewing machines, facilitated the rehabilitation of the existing structure of the association’s office/workshop, and provided savanna grass for the production of local mattresses.

In a bid to promote sustainable charity initiatives, we engaged in groundnut cultivation during the farming season, resulting in a harvest of approximately four bags of groundnuts. Amidst these activities, our commitment to weekly apostolates and prayer meetings remained steadfast.

Thank you and blessings to all.

Bro. James K. Lebbie

Secretary General
