Feb. 27 is the feast day of Blessed Francinaina Cirer i Carbonell, a native of Sencelles in Mallorca (Spain).
She was illiterate but later founded the Community of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul of Mallorca despite this impediment. She… assumed the name of “Francinaina of the Sorrowful Mother of God”. She also experienced angelic visions on numerous occasions.
She was beatified on 1 October 1989 and a second miracle required for her sainthood is now under investigation

Vincentians Fr. Joe Agostino, CM and Javier Chento met with her congregation in the Spring of 2019 as described in this earlier .famvin article.
Many roads lead to the incarnation of the Charism. Every congregation has walked a different road that is yet distinctively marked by the desire to serve those living in poverty in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul. This reality opens our eyes to an important fact about our Vincentian Movement: we are quite diverse and must recognize and celebrate this diversity in the lived experience of the Family in every country in which we work.
