Rome, March 25, 2022
Feast of the Annuciation

To the Leaders of the Distinct Branches of the Vincentian Family:
May the light and the strength of the Risen Lord be always with us!

As we continue our Lenten journey, I begin with a heartfelt greeting from Rome. May this Lenten seaon help us to remain focused on the fundamentals of our lives and our vocation.

Today I want to speak with you about the progress of the Vincentian formation initiative known as the Masters in Vincentian Studies. As you know, last September, a group of five missxionary-professors of the Congregation of the Mission, in coordination with Father Corpus Delgado, CM and specialists at the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain), began their first semester of studies (in Spanish) for this Masters Degree. According to the comments of the students and their professors, things are moving along smoothly.

By means of this letter, I want to inform you that in September 2022 a second course will begin (2022-2023, 20223-2024). On this occassion, the courses will be offered in English and Spanish. All those wishing to begin these studies in September 2022 should send the necessary documentation to SIEV: siev@cmglobal.org before April 30th, 2022. Attached you will find complete details.

I leave for last what is most important. We are all being offered a golden opportunity to enter more fully into our wonderful spirituality and ultimately, an opportunity to share this richness with the members of the different Vincentian groups. In the Church, treasures are not meant to be buried and hidden, but rather they are intended to be shared. We know that many of our Vincentian specialists have died and others are getting older and experience the consequent limitations that this reality carries with it. For the benefit of the Congregation, the worldwide Vincentian Family and the poor, we need people to take advantage of this opportunity … and the Masters in Vincentian Studies is the way to do that.

I want to thank SIEV for the effort that they have made and continue to make in order to provide this service which benefits the whole Congregation and all the members of the worldwide Vincentian Family. I simply restate my best wishes to all you as we travel together toward the Easter celebration

Sincerely in Saint Vincent

Fr. Tomaž Mavrič, CM
Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission

Good initiative and much appreciated. It’s important that this social organization with a noble cause become well recognized by making it professional. As at now here in Africa, it has few membership because it is viewed as an organization for the old.
