On-going Vincentian and Christian formation is essential for every individual who engages in any charitable activity within any of the many branches of the Vincentian Family.
All members of the Vincentian Family need good formation materials in order to have better tools and to be more effective in serving those in need. Formation, in this sense, is a fundamental dimension in the growth of all who follow Jesus Christ in the footsteps of St. Vincent de Paul and so many other saints and blessed of our spiritual family. There is much Vincentian formation material, but the most important question is that these materials be shared in a manner that they reach the people who need them.
For some years now, a task force of the Vincentian Family has been trying to find the best way to distribute these materials. However, everyone’s help is necessary so that we can build a good library of digital materials that will serve all members of the Family, regardless of the branch or the place where they residence.
Therefore, the Vincentian Family Office encourages all members of the Vincentian Family to share this material. A form for sending such formative materials is available at http://lib.vincentians.com. a minimum number of these has been collected. This library will begin to function and will be public and available to all who want to use it.
Mr. Renato Lima, president general of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and member of the Executive Committee of the Vincentian Family, has indicated that “with better formation, the members of the various branches will be able to respond in a more effective manner on behalf of those who suffer”.
Mrs. Alicia Duhne, International President of the International Association of Charities (AIC), and also member of the Executive Committee of the Vincentian Family, also encourages everyone to collaborate in this cause: “Building a Digital Library with the formation documents we have in each Branch of our great Family is a great initiative. We know that we all have valuable materials: what better than to share these riches among ourselves. With will and perseverance we will be able to go very far and I am sure that if we unite our strengths our reach will be even greater. I encourage the members of the Vincentian Family, and especially the members of AIC, to join this wonderful effort.”
Help us to create this library by sharing the Vincentian formation files you have on your computer or those which your group and/or branch use for formation!
Thank you all for your efforts and contribution.
