On Sunday, September 2, “Finding Vince 400,” the international film festival dedicated to Saint Vincent de Paul and inspired by the theme of the globalization of charity, will be presented at the International Film Festival of the Venice Biennale, on the Lido, from August 29 to September 8, 2018.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Ente dello Spettacolo Foundation (FEdS), promoted by the Italian Episcopal Conference, which this year renews its presence at the 75th International Film Festival of the Venice Biennale, “Finding Vince 400” will be presented on Sunday, September 2 at 12:00 in the Tropicana 1 room of the Hotel Excelsior. The first edition of this Vincentian Festival will thus receive the maximum attention from professionals in the film industry. Officially presented in Rome in 2017 during the Symposium that celebrated the fourth centenary of the Vincentian charism, “Finding Vince 400,” is scheduled in Castel Gandolfo from October 18 to 21, and wants to show the issue of the globalization of charity in all languages and artistic forms through a contest. Creatives, narrators, scriptwriters … are called to tell, through multiple artistic expressions, the poverty in our world in a new and original way; so far, three thousand projects from 109 countries around the world have responded to the appeal launched by the Vincentian Family, which operates throughout the world following the spirit of its founder St. Vincent.
With this presence in Venice, the Vincentian Family renews its commitment to the theme of charity, helping to stimulate and inspire the debate on cinema as an instrument of evangelization and transmission of human and Christian values.
The following will take part in the presentation of “Finding Vicente 400” at the Venice Film Festival:
- Father Tomaž Mavrič CM, Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission and the Daughters of Charity.
- Monsignor Davide Milani, president of the Ente dello Spettacolo Foundation
- Andrea Chiodi, director
Members of the Vincentian Family who wish to attend the scheduled presentation in Venice must previously send an email to the following address: elena@elenagrazini.it
