This year is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of Charity Federation. In 1947, Mother Seton’s Daughters, including leaders from the representing congregations, met Oct. 28-29 in Emmitsburg, Maryland. To commemorate this milestone, the archivists of the SC Federation congregations have created an online exhibit, “A History of the Sisters of Charity Federation in Objects.” This new exhibit, which includes items representing a “moment in time” from each of the federation congregations, complements the collaborative oral histories project launched by the archivists last year. “The online visibility of these artifacts provides access to cultural materials that may otherwise be hidden, due to exhibit space limitations or inherent fragility. The exhibit will broaden as items of interest are added,” said Mindy Gordon, archivist for the Sisters of Charity of New York. View online exhibit
