The spring and summer of 2019/20 saw Australia ravaged by huge bushfires from Queensland through to South Australia, with some of the greatest impact occurring in the region where members of the Society of St Vincent de Paul Canberra/Goulburn (SVDP-CG) are ministering.

2020 started so beautifully for me. At the beginning of January, I attended a large meeting of the Vincentian Family in Rome, along with some other members from the Vincent de Paul Center.

His life changed when he accessed one of the new 502 housing units that make up the latest “13 Houses” Campaign project, the first in Sydney and New South Wales (NSW), Australia.

The unique Australian environment and biodiversity, and the industries it fosters (including food and wine production and tourism), have been hit hard by the bushfires – and it is only one month into summer.
