Sisters of Charity

Although her school has been independent of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth since 1973, McClure continues some of the traditions the order started at the school’s founding.

Although community is largely what draws me to this vocation, I did not previously understand how deeply woven it is into poverty, celibacy and obedience.

Women religious have a history of seeing needs and responding to them. Sister Donna Dodge and her community of the Sisters of Charity of New York walk in that tradition.

When one looks at what dedicated women religious have done in health care, educationand in general, going to the peripheries” the question naturally arises. So just how do sisters keep writing “new chapters” in their lives?
