Robert’s journey from homelessness and alcohol dependence to reintegration highlights the importance of perseverance and support from organizations like Depaul. After years of facing bureaucratic obstacles, Depaul helped him obtain his identity card, giving him a renewed opportunity to rebuild his life.

Luka’s life fell apart after a spinal injury and the loss of his wife, leaving him isolated, incapacitated, and living in extreme neglect. With unwavering support from the DePaul Croatia Refuge House, he was ultimately admitted to a care home, where he now lives with dignity and proper care.

Toma, a 40-year-old man with epilepsy, struggles with extreme poverty and bureaucracy that denies him access to social welfare, forcing him to survive by collecting plastic bottles. With support from the House of Refuge of DePaul Croatia, he is working toward reclaiming his rights, finding employment, and building a stable, hopeful future.

Pope Francis recently blessed thirteen keys imbued with profound symbolism. Each key represents a country where the Famvin Homeless Alliance is working to provide housing solutions for the homeless. This gesture echoes the mission of St. Vincent de Paul, who initiated a similar effort in 17th-century Paris.
