“How was your Easter?” How many times have you said that recently? Usually, it leads to a lively conversation about family gatherings, etc.

If you’ve watched any sports events over the last decades, you’ve seen banners held high, calling attention to a famous passage in John’s Gospel.

Some 60 years ago, I remember being struck by a question still relevant today.  A great theologian, Johannes Hoffinger, asked: “if we are Easter People, why do we so often look like people in need of an aspirin?”

The example of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton shows us how to yield our lives to Christ, the Crucified One, that we might live.
