Congregation of the Mission

A new book by Fr. Jaison Ambadan CM has been published and is available to the public. The title is: Spiritual Advancements in the Educational Perspective of Pastoral Community Development with Reference to Vincent de Paul and Thomas Aquinas. 

“On the occasion of World Mission Day 2022, I renew my resolution to send at least 1 percent of the members of the Congregation of the Mission, about 30 confreres a year, to the ‘missions ad gentes’ each year.”

The feast of St. Vincent de Paul, the Founder of the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentian Priests and Brothers) was solemnly celebrated on September 27th, (5.30 pm, at the Vincentian College, Janampet, Eluru).

In Vincent’s time, the poor were largely neglected, illiterate, and spiritually ignorant. The clergy were sadly inadequate. St. Vincent founded the Congregation of the Mission to preach to the country poor and to help reform the clergy.
