From the age of reason, Jeanne [Sr. Rosalie] had thought of consecrating herself to God.

In addition to caring for the sick poor in their homes, Blessed Rosalie collaborated closely with the civil authorities responsible for the assistance of those who were poor.

Nine years after the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. Catherine Labouré, she appeared to Sister Justine Bisqueyburu, D.C., in the same convent chapel at Rue du Bac, holding the Immaculate Heart in her hands, and gave her the Green Scapular.

For the sake of the country poor, St. Vincent de Paul founded the Congregation of the Mission to preach and educate the people.
