Vincentian Family

Over the past three years, the number of individuals living on less than $3.65 USD-a-day increased by 165 million.  Today, nearly 700 million people worldwide live in extreme poverty, on less than $2.15 a day.

Street homelessness is in many ways a very visible social and infrastructure issue, while sheltered homelessness and inadequate housing are less obvious to the observer.

Blessed Frederic Ozanam wrote, “Charity is the Samaritan who pours oil on the wounds of the traveler who has been attacked. It is justice’s role to prevent the attack.”[
