Ten years ago, Western Region of Society of Saint Vincent de Paul took on the challenge to assist those in need living in Arctic Canada.

The government’s Kickstart scheme is proving to be a popular way for young people to gain experience in the world of work, but the SVP has taken the initiative to another level.

On Thursday, October 28, the Vincentian Family at the UN presented a Parallel Event of Urban October, “What Happens When People Have Housing? Better City—Better Life.”

This side event will include and amplify the voices of individuals and families who have experienced homelessness and poverty, and their suggestions for “Better City, Better Life.”
