St. Vincent, four centuries before Pope Francis, reminded his sons and daughters that their dignity and identity is found in their being “missionaries of Jesus Christ.”

It is a variation of an ancient story. Humans were making a mess. They forgot that they were all sisters and brothers. They each were looking out for themselves and their immediate “blood family.”

In the Gospel of the day, we hear the crucified Christ ridiculed at the end of his life.  Listen to the way in which each group mocks Jesus.
