Vincentian Prayer Images: Walking Through Each Day with St. Vincent X

by | May 18, 2021 | Formation, Reflections

Here is another in our series of “Praying Our Heritage.” The series illustrates quotes from key figures in the Vincentian Heritage.

Let the image and the quote sink in, and take root. These images might surprise you into prayer at various points in your day.

Walking through each day with St. Vincent

St. Vincent told the Daughters of Charity: “Go to Holy Mass every day, but do so with deep devotion; conduct yourselves in church with great reserve and be an example of virtue to all who see you. I have to give as an example a dear lady named Mme Pavilion, who for many long years has been a source of admiration in her parish. She seems to walk and carry herself as if she’s visibly in the presence of God, and appears to be almost unaffected by everything, sin excepted. She would allow herself to be trampled on rather than be diverted from the presence of God. That, Sisters, is how to behave reverently in church, especially during Holy Mass.”

[When we are not in times of danger or pandemic] Daily Mass only takes about half an hour and is so rewarding and calming. If your schedule does not always allow it, maybe go on a certain day of the week, or during Lent, or on First Fridays. Give it a try.

For the more visually oriented among us, you don’t have to wait for the weekly image on Tuesday. You can browse for yourself. You can even search for images related to key words. Visit and search VinFormation’s database of prayer images.

We hope you will enjoy these time-release prayer capsules!

We would also welcome you sharing with all of us images that inspired you to prayer.
